Let’s celebrate 5 de mayo, Beat Latino style!
The original 5 de mayo commemorates the Battle in the city of Puebla, México 152 years ago, when the Mexican army were able to against all odds win against French forces twice its size! The Puebla victory became a symbol of Mexican unity and pride, and so, to remember its origins, Beat Latino celebrates the 5 de mayo with music created by artists with Mexican roots, but in the U.S.
Let’s commemorate and celebrate how immigrants come with hearts, minds and souls and a multitude of cultural riches, which then often flourish and becomes those of the land that receives them!
¡Viva el 5 de mayo en los Estados Unidos! ¡Viva la riqueza cultural mexicana y mexicoamericana en los Estados Unidos!
