This week’s Beat Latino celebrates the other Mexico, el otro México, on this side of the border. From Tucson, New York, Los Angeles and other cities even beyond our northern border, this week’s selection shares a vision of a the Mexican side of this immigrant nation, and celebrates its musical contribution to the culture. We also share a wonderful conversation we had at Mundial Montreal 2016 with the Villalobos Brothers, a trio of virtuoso violinist brothers from Xalapa, Veracruz who are now based in New York. Luis, Alberto and Ernesto share how their experiences have shaped a joyous music that they now use to build cultural bridges this side of the Rio Grande.

Happy 5 de mayo!
