It´s time to say good-bye to 2010, but the musical memories will stay with us for a long time! In this special hour, Beat Latino salutes the amazing 2010 tunes from all over the Latin & Latino musical universe that dared to move freely within their genre and from genre to genre to give us new takes on famiiiar rhythms and unmistakeably roots versions of the most cutting-edge sounds.
From poetic roots hip hop from Colombia and Puerto Rico, to chamber music that veers wonderfully between jazz, classical and tango, to discovering the flamenco in tango and the jazz in flamenco, not to mention merengue born-anew with a techno edge, and mariachi-ish bluegrass!
Presented in English as well as Spanish, so that most all who enjoy the music can also enjoy the information. Airs nicely year end 2010 to early 2011.
