Beat Latino airs Wednesdays and Sundays on Vocalo (Vocalo.org) as well as Berlin, and is archived on this website weekly. Beat Latino specials are also licensed all over the United States through the Public Radio Exchange.
Beat Latino celebrates a different facet of the wide and wonderful universe of Latin & Latino music, past, present and future. This year, for the Academy Awards of 2011, for the very first time, a role which was completely performed in Spanish has been nominated for an award in the “Best Actor” category (Javier Bardem, for “Biutiful”).
This hour of Beat Latino celebrates music in the movies about and by Latinos, including tunes from the soundtracks of “Biutiful”, “Brokeback Mountain”, “Motorcycle Diaries” and “West Side Story”. It´s time to go to the movies with Beat Latino!
