APAP (Association of American Arts Presenters) has held an annual conference in New York City for the past 59 years, and it is a five-day whirlwind of every possible kind of artistic event – music, dance, theatre – in every possible kind of venue. Thanks to the astounding jazz marathon presented by Winter Jazzfest, to taking in six hours and twelve bands on three floors at GlobalFest to the wonderful showcases hosted by renowned record labels such as Barbes and Electric Cowbell, we had a chance to hear such extraordinary music! Beat Latino shares in this hour some of our favorite moments from APAP 2016, including a conversation with Mario Garcia-Durham, APAP’s President and Executive Director.
