Nuestra música: past, present and future

Inspired by Manu Chao’s latest batch of new songs which includes “Words of Truth”, this week’s Beat Latino selects songs that reflect words of truth, from Chicago’s Esso Afrojam Funkbeat singing about unity, to Watcha Clan’s classic melody about refugees, to crying out and seeking Justice in Lila Down’s anthem. Thoughtful music for troubled times which nevertheless keeps our hearts open and optimistic. Enjoy!
