We really do love tribute albums and covers here at Beat Latino! To be able to take a song we’ve heard hundreds of times and somehow, extracting new flavors, nuances and textures is a special treat. This week, I’ve selected some of my recent favorites, from flamenco-ish takes on Jose Alfredo Jimenez’ “Un Mundo Raro” to a reggae-ified “La Bamba” by Ozomatli to a “Clandestino” version gone indie rock Kansas City and Panamá style from Making Movies.
