Download this Episode of Beat Latino (MP3)

This week’s Beat Latino is an exploration of the iconic ranchera music from Mexico, popularized around the world by recently deceased Vicente Fernandez. Heartfelt, always passionate, often tragic, it’s the music of “love, pain and tears” as well as resilience! Ranchera music, born in the countryside and during Mexican Revolution, also came to represent the spirit of Mexicanidad on both sides of the border. Sit back, sip a tequila or mezcal, and raise a glass to life, love, triumph over tragedy and Ranchera music!
